The new millennium was not only a turning point for global digitalization, but also the year China's shipbuilding industry began its rapid rise. In 2000, China's shipbuilding output reached 2.2451 million gross tons, with its share of global shipbuilding output growing from 0.8% in 1982 to 6%. By 2010, China had risen to become the world's leading shipbuilder, with completed shipbuilding output reaching 65.6 million deadweight tons. Against this backdrop, INTERMAX's founders - coming from a family with a long maritime heritage - recognized the future potential of the shipbuilding industry in 2001 and set out from Hong Kong to establish a presence in maritime logistics, offering refined, customized logistics services to shipyards, shipowners, marine equipment manufacturers, and maritime logistics partners. Through meticulous process control and attention to detail, INTERMAX earned the trust and recognition of clients and partners, successfully resolving numerous complex logistics challenges and achieving our goal of "making logistics effortless for the shipbuilding world."
Building on our deep expertise in shipbuilding and our specialized capabilities in handling large, oversized cargo, INTERMAX expanded into a broader range of services, entering the large-scale project logistics sector. The company began providing specialized logistics planning, transport services, and process management for industries such as marine engineering, energy and power, and rail transit. As the global project market flourished, INTERMAX successfully completed projects including the Rotterdam bridge project, the Rotterdam port crane project, the Norwegian PSV (Platform Supply Vessel) offshore engineering project, an Australian mining project, the Zhuhai tram project, a UAE chemical project, a UAE aviation wind tunnel project, a U.S. power plant project, and an Egyptian power plant project. Drawing on our passion for the logistics industry and years of knowledge, experience, and expertise in large-scale oversized project cargo logistics, INTERMAX has overcome numerous challenges and completed projects that once seemed impossible. Looking ahead, INTERMAX will continue to write new chapters of success.
As China's Belt and Road Initiative advanced, INTERMAX extended its reach into countries along the China-Europe rail corridor. Following the completion of the New Silk Road, this land bridge freight corridor connecting China and Europe became a key strategic focus for the company. As our business grew, INTERMAX successfully integrated multiple transport modes, incorporating rail transport as a standard component of our logistics solutions, applying synchronized, modular multimodal supply chain solutions across various business partnerships.4
